Navarre Beach is a little slice of the Florida Gulf Coast. It may lack the prestige of Ft. Walton or Destin, but the sun is still hot, the sand is still white, and the morning sun still rises in majestic brilliance. Sunday morning I was taking a walk over the Navarre Beach Causeway, just as the sun was climbing into the morning sky. I captured my view in the photograph below.
As I watched the sun arch over the low hanging clouds, words from Proverbs came to mind. In the fourth chapter, Solomon presents two paths one may travel in life: wisdom or wickedness.
Knowing that the choice one makes, makes all the difference, the writer admonishes his sons (readers) to walk the way of wisdom. He points to the rising sun to drive home his message.
Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil. Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on. For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble. For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble. (Proverbs 4:14-18 ESV)
Whether in business, marriage, school, or friendships, the same two paths are before you today. God's message is simple: One way leads to darkness and one way leads to light. Follow the Son!
STAY FOCUSED TODAY: When you see the sun, remember God's promise for those who walk his way of wisdom.
